what you focus on expands

My life coach and I were talking about focus this week. As I grow this creative business she has been an invaluable resource on how to grow creatively with authenticity and integrity.

Anyway. Focus. We were talking abou the whole joy rebel thing and I was peppering her with questions about should I do this and maybe go this direction and she mentioned that the narrower her focus got, the more opportunities and ways of expressing that focus seemed to appear seemingly out of nowhere.

Huh. Interesting.

But we moved on and talked about other things and towards the end of the conversation she said a quote that has come from a variety of sources probably: 'what we focus on expands'.

OH

MY

GOD.

I got it. It's like a beam of light descended upon me. That's WHY she got so many opportunites when she focused on one thing in her life. Because what we focus on GROWS BECAUSE WE ARE FOCUSING ON IT.

Holy freaking cow.

Okay so I have no idea YET how this whole joy rebel thing is going to turn out but I feel I should be upfront with you now. My focus is to grow this joy rebel thing into a lucrative creative business. I looooovvveeee being a joy rebel. I love talking about it and expressing it and sharing it.

I'll leave the details up to all those ears out in the ethers that just perked up.

amen.

LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT!
Another quote with the very same meaning: Our Thoughts become Things

This is what helps me DAILY in my life. I think of how I want my mission to go, visualize it, pray on it.

Question: What can we fellow joy rebels do to help you make your dream come true?

Anyway I Can...I Will!

That's a great quote! And it makes a lot of sense. What can we do to help?

Such a simple truth. Yet we need frequent reminders.

Holy freaking cow is right Brandi!!!
I love coming here because I feel the essence of your positivity...I feel like you are MY life coach!
This "focus" has proved itself in so many ways (negative ways) in my life. I'm trying to turn it around with the spring season of re-birth, reinventing myself, etc.

Thank you, THANK YOU for this post!

I think you're on to something FABULOUS here, Brandi...a career as a Joy Rebel leader!! I see workshops, workbooks, great things you are manifesting for yourself!
Go Brandi!

Good for you! It sounds like your life coach is giving you wonderful guidance. I'm really excited to see you focusing on the joy rebel thing. I think it is a brilliant concept and you are just the creative gal to do the job. How can I help?

Your post is well-timed as I'm dealing with my own attempt to focus. The quote you gave helps me feel like I'm not limiting myself by focusing, rather I'll be growing. So I love it!

I'm with Lee Ann on the whole battling fear of getting what I ask for thing. That is a tough battle, isn't it?

Lee Ann and Sherri. It absolutely IS a battle.

what I have found lately though is it doesn't continue to be. At some point, you stop being afraid and start being excited for what you'll get.

seriously. I keep poking myself and wondering when the fear is going to pop up because I've moved forward WITH fear for so long. And while it seems like it just *poof* went away, I think it's because I kept moving forward and doing the work that it left.

Brandi- I think you're probably right about the fear thing. I'm in a place where I bounce back and forth between excited at possibilities and fear of success. I find myself spending more time on the excited side lately, so maybe that fear side will continue decreasing.

Side note: I sent you an email to your @dandelion... address. Not sure if you still use that one, but you may want to check it if you can.
