I found it quite fitting that I logged on to talk about my adventures in style so far and Jamie's wishcasting prompt for this week is all about where we want to shine in our lives.
I've been playing with style for about two weeks now and I'm definitely feeling shinier. Where did I get this idea that creativity was only for making art? Creativity can be in everything and I was selling myself short by restricting it ONLY to when I picked up a camera or walked into my studio.
(tangent: a friend of mine calls her creative space her 'imaginarium'. That freaking rocks.)
So, things I've learned since I started playing with style:
1. Since I am taking a photo of myself most days (I tend to slack off on weekends when I don't get out of my pajamas for two days. And I won't lie, it's the same pair of pj's both days. I basically don't get of them for 48 hours.), I find that I pay much more attention to what I feel like wearing, what I'll feel good in and not just what is clean.
2. I have a girly side. Who knew??
3. Playing with style has improved my creativity in other areas. I imagine that being creative in any area of life-decorating, cooking, gardening-would improve creativity in other areas.
4. I love color! Okay, I already knew that.
And that's after only two weeks! If you would like to follow along as I explore more with style, you can visit my flickr set.
I would love to know-what are your style secrets? What can you share with me about how you find your style?

my style secrets are simple - colour is always in order
fabric has got to feel good
jewellery is crucial and on a good morning ALL that is required
i can always go for "interesting" because i sure as hell can't get groomed and well styled but i find interesting much more appealing (and less intimidating in others)
you are beautiful Brandi!
i am back to say i completely blow my cool by having my husband's undies on the outside of my tights and on my head in my avatar photo! ha...
I love your fashionista slide show Brandi!! You are so freakin cute and tiny!
You look great in bright colours!
Me? I love all things hippie and flowy and boho....but then there's those days where I'm a t-shirt & jeans kinda girl.
And thanks....good to know I'm not the only one who has gone all weekend wearing the same jammies or sweats!
May your style shine girl!!
I don't follow trends. I just tend to gravitate towards whatever feels good to me. I love black. I love putting on a big, glitzy evening wear necklace with a pair of old jeans and a tshirt. Sometimes I put one of my funky little aprons on over my outfit and go to the store.
Oh I have big style secrets. Ok so maybe I don't but I rock the poor collage student look!
Love the pink and star necklace but I have to say you have always been shiny my dear!
