We visited Jason's aunt in bacliff, texas this weekend...about a five hour drive from where we live in dallas.
Two years ago, hurricane ike destroyed their home. Jason's aunt had to take it down to the studs to rebuild. During that time, she also lost her husband to cancer.
I can't even imagine.
Yet....Aunt Lin and cousin Madison are wonderful. Cheerful and giving and open and loving. I love spending time with them. Not to mention, Lin is an amazing cook.
I'm so glad that we were able to spend the weekend CELEBRATING that their house-the bay house-has been rebuilt!!!
Some scenes from the weekend:

Zeus (of course we took zeus...have you met us?) giving Madison kisses.

Soooooo...peaceful.

This talented photographer is Jaxson, Jason's nephew. We were so fortunate that his sister and her significant other, Jaxson and soon to be June (his sister is due in September!) were able to join us for lunch on sunday before we headed back. Don't you love those chucks?
So...what did you do this weekend?

sounds like you had an amazing weekend Brandi. love the pictures ... especially the very first one-very cool and who could resist the little guy in the last one? so cute!
I had a pretty relaxed weekend - enjoying the cool breezes when they could be found!
I absolutely love the first photo in this post!
we've actually been having cool breezes in cali and i am loving it. i met up with a friend i hadn't seen in 10 years. she's going to hook me up with a center for unwed mothers so i can spread the love and inspire them. i suffered from infertility but i am overflowing with love and want to give back. so that was my weekend.
What a wonderful getaway - great pictures (and I love your new header too). I was totally lazy over the weekend - think I took one picture - but soaked up the sun a lot. :)
