divinity is firmly entrenched in the real

In summer, the song sings itself. ~William Carlos Williams

I love doing yoga outside whenever possible. I love the smell of green and the firm earth beneath my feet. I love feeling the wind around me and the sun on my face.

So this afternoon when I got home from work there was a nice breeze blowing, making it feel slightly cooler than the normal 157 degrees. A perfect afternoon for a little outdoor yoga.

I fed the dogs and then let them roam around in the yard while I got into my poses. And ya'll, it was one of those days when everything just flows. I felt my body opening to the poses in a way I haven't lately. I felt my chest open. As I looked up to the sky from triangle pose, I saw a bird above me, wings spread, just allowing the wind to carry him.

Yes, I thought, this is a sign. Go with the flow, sink into the pose, let go. Be the bird.

Ahhhhhh........

I so busy congratulating myself for being so enlightened that I didn't notice that Keely, the crazy one, had gotten bored with whatever it was that she was doing and wandered over to me to say hi.

As I came down into plank pose, my face was now level with hers, and I was greeted with an enthusiastic kiss.

She apparently had just finished eating poop.

yogic lesson of the day: pay attention and you can avoid a face full of shit.

om shanti. :-)

Leave it to a dog to bring us back to reality!
Other than that, it sounds like you had one of those perfect moments.

Oh, Brandi, what a precious post! I'm cracking up. Best wishes for more divine awareness -- and glorious transcendent moments, too. :)

Namaste, my friend.

Ha ha ha ha ha! This was the best blog I've read EVER! I even shared it with my husband who both appreciates yoga and things about poop that make him laugh.
