the new do, taken with iphone
I love my new hair! I took my mom with me for moral support when I got my hair cut.
Periodically, she'd ask me how I was doing and I found myself saying: I love this! What was I so afraid of?
I feel like I just unearthed a deeper layer of me. In fact, just from getting this hair cut, I find myself wondering what else I'd like to do that I've let fear hold me back on...
hmmmm.....
p.s. at the bottom of posts there should now be links to share on twitter, facebook, etc. You know, just in case you want to tell all your friends about the wacky lady who lets a hair cut change her life. Just sayin' ;-)

BEAUTIFUL!!
super awesome cut!
how did you get the link buttons to appear on your posts?
Love it! You look fabulous and I sooo know what you mean. No hiding behind this cut and suddenly...you don't want to.
You look great!
thanks for the sweet comments guys!
Kristina...I went to 'design' mode and then in the block that says 'blog posts', I clicked 'edit'. There is an option to include the links in the box that pops up...
hope that helps!
You look beautiful and you can totally pull it off. Totally brave, and that in my book is a major step towards expressing all the layers of you! You go girl!
You totally rock in short hair! It really accents your lovely brown eyes.
Oh, yes, this is a wonderful change, Brandi. It shows off your lovely face perfectly. :)
Congratulations on having the courage to face those fears and move on through them!
thanks guys, for all the wonderful encouragement! I'm still loving my hair and so happy I did this... :-)
looks great Brandi ;)
... and so easy to care for too!
Hmm, I sound like I'm from the '50's. Oh yeah, I AM ;)from the '50's.
You look great! But I think it would be difficult for you not to. : )
I've been reading a few blogs about natural hair, for us black women, it's a big issue. And from what I've seen, any major change in hair, usually is part of a major change in thinking too. It was for me when I decided to stop relaxing my hair and just let it be. As I've accepted my natural curls, I've also learned to accept other parts of myself. Like that I have a serious need to create!
I completely agree with what you said. "I feel like I just unearthed a deeper layer of me."
I love the new look, I'm a HUGE fan of short hair and my hubby love it too (makes it so much easier).
Gorgeous! It can be so freeing to cut off long locks.
